Paintball supplies and equipment

One of the biggest concerns of players and parents of young players is safety, or at least it should be. Many people view paintball as an extremely dangerous, warlike game. In fact, paintball is not more dangerous than many other popular American sports. There are surely many more injured football players carried off the field than there are paintball players.

Again, though, safety is key in paintball. If you do not have the proper safety equipment and gear, you risk the chance of injuring someone else or getting injured yourself. One important piece of safety equipment is a paintball mask. A player most certainly does not wear a paintball mask just to look pretty. A paintball mask protects a person’s face and eyes. Without a paintball mask, a person could have serious damage to his eyes if hit with a paintball in that region.

It is not just important to wear a mask while playing paintball, it is important to wear a paintball mask that has met the standards that a paintball mask must meet. It is not, for instance, ok to wear ski goggles or sun glasses or anything else in lieu of a paintball mask. A paintball can be traveling at over 270 mph – if it hits your face and you are wearing anything other than a proper paintball mask, the results will not be pretty. Besides having the impact of the paintball hit your face, the paintball could also push whatever “protective eyewear” you were trying out into your face as well.

Besides a good paintball mask, a player should also make sure that he has a good paintball gun, or “marker.” People tend to call paintball guns “paintball markers,” instead, because it disassociates paintball from war. A paintball gun is not the same thing as a regular gun – that is why many people call it a paintball marker instead.

Although a paintball marker is not a bullet shooting gun, it can be dangerous. Therefore, it is important to have a barrel blocking device for your paintball gun. A barrel blocking device keeps your paintball gun from shooting while you are off the playing field. The only “safe” place to shoot your paintball gun is on a standard paintball field, when everyone has on all of their paintball protective gear. Once off the field, you should use your barrel blocking device. As mentioned earlier, if a person is not wearing protective paintball gear like a paintball mask, a paintball can really cause some damage.

No matter if you only play paintball once a year, or once a week, make sure that you play it safely and use safety equipment when you are playing. A proper paintball gun and a proper paintball mask are very important when it comes to safety and having fun while playing that wonderful, exhilarating sport that we like to call paintball.
